September 17, 2010 – With just-released statistics indicating 41% of marriages claim one or both spouses admitting to infidelity, either physical or emotional, the publishers of Untie-TheKnot.com announce the launch of their website. The marital lifestyle site launches in anticipation of National Freebie Day and the theatrical film release of THE FREEBIE.
Today, 57% of men and 54% of women admit to being unfaithful in a relationship, including marriage. An executive from Untie-TheKnot.com had the following to say: "The notion of 'til death do us part' isn't necessarily feasible in today's world; instead of artificially suppressing perfectly healthy and natural instincts to one's own emotional, spiritual, and sexual detriment, we're aiming to evolve perceptions surrounding extra-marital exploration. Untie-TheKnot.com is a first step in that direction, providing practical advice and serving as an anecdotal resource for loving couples looking to progress and grow their sexual connection."
Biologist, sexologist and Kinsey Institute founder Dr. Alfred Kinsey echoed similar sentiments over half a century ago, underscoring the eternal importance of remaining true to one's sexual self: "As long as sex is dealt with in the current confusion of ignorance and sophistication, denial and indulgence, suppression and stimulation, punishment and exploitation, secrecy and display, it will be associated with a duplicity and indecency that lead neither to intellectual honesty nor human dignity."
In addition to providing committed couples with tips and advice, Untie-TheKnot.com will also serve as the online destination for the new domestic infidelity holiday, aptly named "National Freebie Day." Holiday organizer Darren S. commented that National Freebie Day is the "perfect opportunity" for dedicated partners "to take one night off from marriage with no strings attached and no questions asked afterwards." Fellow National Freebie Day organizer Annie S. continued in that vein, explaining that the new red-letter day will allow participants to "..come back to each other emotionally recharged and physically reinvigorated in their love for each other."
ABOUT NATIONAL FREEBIE DAY
National Freebie Day is a United States holiday observed on September 17th.
National Freebie Day is a day of celebration intended for married people and long-term committed couples who are currently in monogamous relationships. The holiday is regarded as a day for committed couples to express their sexuality separately from each other with the understanding that a night of freedom will ultimately reinvigorate couples' sexual connection and serve to bring them closer both emotionally and sexually. National Freebie Day organizers hope to remove the stigma and taboo surrounding mutually consensual sexual exploration and expressions in any manner.
ABOUT THE FREEBIE
Darren (Dax Shepard) and Annie (Katie Aselton) have an enviable relationship built on love, trust and communication-they still enjoy each other's company and laugh at each other's jokes. Unfortunately, they can't remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with an idea for a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a "freebie" be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? THE FREEBIE is an insightful and humorous look at love, sustaining relationships, and the awkwardness of monogamy when the haze of lust has faded. The film was produced by Adele Romanski and executive produced by Aselton and CYRUS co-director Mark Duplass.
