Cillian Murphy, Demi Moore, Saoirse Ronan among Irish Film & TV Awards Winners
The 22nd IFTAs in Dublin honored Small Things Like These as the best film, Conclave as the best international movie, ‘Bad Sisters,’ Ralph Fiennes, Colin Farrell, Sharon Horgan, and ‘Kneecap.’
Small Things Like These, Irish drama starring Cillian Murphy as coal merchant and father haunted by secret abuses in local convent sanctioned by the Catholic Church, beat out Kneecap, the hip-hop comedy featuring Michael Fassbender, to win best film honor at the Irish Film & Television Awards 2025 during a ceremony held in Dublin on Friday.
Saoirse Ronan left with 2 awards (the lead actress honor for her role in The Outrun and the supporting actress trophy for Blitz).
Oscar winner Murphy (Oppenheimer) won the best actor IFTA for his work in Small Things Like These.
Demi Moore (The Substance) and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) were honored in the international acting categories.
Colin Farrell (The Penguin) and Sharon Horgan (for writing Bad Sisters) earned TV statuettes.
Rich Peppiatt received the best director IFTA for Kneecap, which follows the West Belfast hip-hop trio of the same name on their mission to save their mother tongue.
Kneecap earned four IFTAs, narrowly edging out Small Things Like These with three.
In the lead actor category, all three members of Kneecap the band, namely Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, Naoise Ó Cairealláin and JJ Ó Dochartaigh, were in the running. The winner, however, was Murphy.
Edward Berger’s Conclave was honored with the IFTA award for the best international film. Meanwhile, in IFTA’s TV categories, Bad Sisters was honored as the best drama series.
