Oscar Roles: Accents (Swedish)

Loretta Young attempted a Swedish accent in the comedy, “The Farmer's Daughter,” for which she won the Best Actress Oscar, in a role that was turned down by the real-life Swede, Ingrid Bergman.

For that matter, Ingrid Bergman got to use her native Swedish for the role of the neurotic missionary in Sidney Lumet's “Murder on the Orient Express,” for which she won a third (this time in the supporting league) Oscar.
