Oscar Movies: Napoleon and Samantha (1972)–Disney Adventure Starring Jodie Foster in her First Film

Ten year old Jodies Foster stars as Samantha, who joins Napoleon (Johnny Whitaker) and their pet lion, when his grandfather dies,  searching for their grown-up friend, Danny (Michael Douglas).

This mediocre Disney adventure is memorable only as Foster’s first film; she would impress in two Scorsese films: “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” in 1974 and especially “Taxi Driver,” in 1976, for which she received a Supporting Actress nomination.
