In this sharply executed and enjoyable biopicture, directed by Britihs filmmaker Karel Reisz (Isadora) and scripted by Robert Getchell (Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore), Jessica Lange stunningly portrays Patsy Cline, the velvet-voiced country music singer who died in a tragic plane crash at the height of her fame.
Ed Harris is equally superb as her husband, Charlie Dick
Though Lange did not sing her songs, she was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar.
