Oscar Movies: Muppet Movie, The (1979)

Directed by James Frawley, The Muppet Movie was the first big-screen showcase for the popular creatures of Jim Henson.  An origin story, The Muppet Movie shows how Kermit left the swamp and met Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and the rest of the crew.

The tale was peppered with cameo apperances by major stars like Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Orson Welles, and Steve Martin.
