Oscar Movies: Louisiana Purchase (1941): Comedy Starring Bob Hope and Victor Moore

This screen version of the Broadway musical, with songs by Irving Berlin, stars Victor Moore as a US Senator Oliver P. Loganberry, who heads an investigation into political corruption in New Orleans, which the lawyer (Bob Hope) attempts tothwart.

Many of the original stage members were recruited for this film, including Victor Moore, Vera Zorina, and Irene Bordoni.
