Oscar Movies: Islands in the Stream (1977)–WWII Tale Starring George C. Scott

Based on a novel by Ernest Hemingway, and directed by Oscar winner Franklin Shaffner (Patton), this boring WWII tale centers on an artist (George C. Scott), who lives on an island in the Bahamas.  After visits from his sons, he decided to go back to the homeland, but the War changes his plans.

The secondary cast includes Claire Bloom, David Hemmings, Gilbert Roland, Susan Tyrrell, and Hart Bochner.
