A classic fish out of water tale, Footloose, directed by Herbert Ross, centers on Ren McCormick, an energetic adolescent who loves musical, vividly played by the young and charming Kevin Bacon. An urban boy, McCormick tries to adapt to life in a small provincial Midwestern town.
Once there, he ends up leading the repressed teenagers into a rebellion against the town fathers, especially the local preacher (John Lithgow), who have outlawed rock roll and dancing.
