Oscar Movies: Caddy, The (1953)

Paramount (York Pictures)

Norman Taurog's comedy "The Caddy," stars the team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis at the height of the popularity. The thin plot relates how Lewis, a gold nut, teaches a not very skillful Martin how to become a champ and win the fans.

The movie became better known for its song, "That's Amore," Martin's first hit, which was used as the motif of Norman Jewison's hit comedy, "Moonstruck," in 1987.
