Oscar Speeches: Connery, Sean–The Untouchables (1987)

First-time nominee, Sean (Bond 007) Connery, who won the 1986 Best Supporting Actor Oscar for “The Untouchables,” began his acceptance speech by saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, friends, and a few enemies.  I realized just the other day that my first one and only attendance (of the ceremonies) was 30 years ago–patience is truly a virtue.”
