Oscar: Consecutive–William Hurt, Russell Crow

In 2002, Russell Crow became the fist actor to land three consecutive Best Actor Oscar nominations (and one win) since William Hurt back in the 1980s.

William Hurt was nominated for Kiss of the Spider Woman (winning, 1985), Children of a Lesser God (1986), and Broadcast News (1987).   He was nominated for the fourth time, this time in the supporting category, for Cronenberg’s A History of Violence.
