Oscar Actors: Hyer, Martha

Born August 10, 1924 in Forth Worth, Texas, Hyer was educated at Northwestern University and then Pasadena Playhouse.

She made her screen debut in 1946, in “The Locket,” and was nominated for the Supporting Actress Oscar in 1958, for Vincente Minnelli's melodrama, “Some Came Running.”

The winner of the Supporting Actress Oscar was Wendy Hiller for “Separate Tables.”
