In 2019, actress Glenn Close received her seventh career nomination for her role in The Wife.
“It really does feel different this time,” Close said in her reaction to the nomination, after winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Drama, and being in a tie with Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) at the Critics Choice Awards, given by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
Close has been nominated for four Best Actress and three Best Supporting Actress Awards over the past 37 years.
If Close wins, she will be one of the oldest (Close is 72) actresses to earn a competitive Best Actress Oscar.
