In 2007, Affleck competed for the Best Supporting Actor with Javier Bardem, who won for “No Country for Old Men,” Philip Seymour Hoffman in “Charlie Wilson’s War,” Hal Holbrook in “Into the Wind,” and Tom Wilkinson in “Michael Clayton.”
Affleck was also in his brother Ben Affleck’s procedural policier, “Gone Baby Gone,” based on Dennis Lehanes novel of the same title. “Gone Bay Gone,” which marks the impressive feature directorial debut of Ben Affleck, who also received screenplay credit, tells the story of two Boston detectives in search of a four-year-old girl who has been kidnapped. Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman and Michelle Monaghan also star in the film, which opens in October 2007.
An accomplished screenwriter, Affleck recently penned the original screenplay for Aardvark Arts Ark, an animated family film that he will also executive produce. The film tells the story of a family of animals who set sail on Noahs Ark and find wild adventures when the waters get dangerous.
Previously, Affleck co-wrote, with Matt Damon, Gus Van Sants independent road movie Gerry, also starring alongside Damon in the film. He has also appeared in Van Sants Good Will Hunting and To Die For; Hamlet, with Ethan Hawke and Julia Stiles; Steven Soderberghs Oceans Eleven and Oceans Twelve; and Tony Goldwyns The Last Kiss, with Zach Braff, Blythe Danner, Tom Wilkinson and Jacinda Barrett.
Casey most recently starred in the latest installment of the popular Oceans series, Oceans Thirteen, which reunited the starring ensemble cast and director Steven Soderbergh.
