Oscar 2011: Jean Dujardin, The Artist

This is the first nomination for the handsome and talented Gallic actor. It’s been a long ride for “The Artist” star Jean Dujardin, nominated for the lead actor, since the film world-premiered last May in Cannes Film Fest, where he won the best Actor kudo.

“It’s been an unbelievable ride. It’s been very intense and filled with all sorts of twists and turns and huge gifts — this being the biggest so far,” Dujardin says.

The recognition is in some ways “embarrassing because it is a small movie but it is a very sincere movie and it was made with an incredible conductor,” he says. “I’m still in shock at all the love.”
