Jan 24, 2009–Slumdog Millionaire won the PGA’s highest honor Saturday night as the Mumbai-set drama continued to rack up the awards season accolades. Producer Christian Colson picked up the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award. “Slumdog Millionaire” entered the final phase of the Oscar race as best picture favorite. The guild’s annual award is considered a harbinger for the Academy’s top prize.
In a repeat of the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards, TV’s “Mad Men,” “30 Rock” and “John Adams” earned PGA awards in the drama, comedy and long-form categories, respectively.
