Oscar 2007: Christopher Rouse Reaction to Winning

Christopher Rouse, winner for Best Film Editing for “The Bourne Ultimatum,” remembered his father, Russell Rouse, a 1959 Oscar winner for the story of “Pillow Talk.” “My father was the biggest inspiration to me” Rouse said. “First and foremost he taught me about story. I try to tell the story effectively.”

Of the dizzying quick-cutting style of “Bourne Ultimatum,” Rouse said, “I just think it's a style we initiated in Bourne Identity' and Supremacy' and just expanded upon. Hopefully it's a style that's kinetic, supports the Bourne character and looks pretty cool.”
