Oscar 1963: Foreign Language Film

In the eighth year of the competitive category of the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, the winner was Italian Fellini’s masterpiece, 81/2 (aka Eight and a Half).

81/2 also won the Best Foreign Language Film from the New York Film Critics Circle.

The five nominees were:

81/2, Italy (winner)

Knife on the Water, Poland

The Red Lanterns, Greece

Lost Tarantos, Spain

The Sisters of Kyoto, Japan
