Foreign Language Film: Year 7

In the seventh year of the competitive category of the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, the winner was the French film, Sundays and Cybele.

The New York Film Critics Circle honored the Italian film, La Dolce Vita, by Fellini, with its top honor for foreign films.

In 1962, Italian filmmaker Pietro Germi was nominated for the Best Director Oscar for the comedy, Divorce–Italian Style.
