Oscar 1962: Foreign Language Film

In the seventh year of the competitive category of the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, the winner was the French film, Sundays and Cybele.

The New York Film Critics Circle honored the Italian film, La Dolce Vita, by Fellini, with its top honor for foreign films.

The five nominees were:

Sundays and Cybele, France (winner)

Electra, Greece

The Four Days of Naples, Italy

Keeper of Promises, Brazil

Tlayucan, Mexico

 

Note:

Keeper of Promises was the first Brazilian film to be nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
