Oscar 1957: Foreign Language Film

In the second year of the new competitive category of the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, the winner was again an Italian film, The Nights of Cabiria, also directed by Federico Fellini.

The New York Film Critics Circle honored the French film, Gervaise, with its top honor for foreign films.

The five nominees were:
