Oscar: Lawrence, Jennifer–One of Youngest Best Actress Oscar Winners

Feb 24, 2013–At 22, Jennifer Lawrence becomes one of the three youngest women to have won the Best Actress Oscar.

Lawrence won the Oscar at her second nomination, two years after being up in the same category for “Winter’s Bone.” Her Oscar is for playing a foul-mouthed, slutty but honest young widow in David O. Russell’s serio comedy, “Silver Linings Playbook.

The other young winners in the Best Actress category are Marlee Matlin for “Children of a Lesser God,”in 1986, and Janet Gaynor, the first einner, back in 1929, for three different roles.

Lawrence’s long whote classy dress was singled out by the fashion gurus as one of the most spectacular.
