Histoire d’Adrien is a French film directed by Jean-Pierre Denis, screened for the first time at the Cannes Film Fest in 1980, where it won the Caméra d’Or.
In the Périgord, at the beginning of the 20th century, Adrien, an illegitimate child, is taken in by his grandmother and learns to live in the harsh world of the Occitan countries. When the First World War ends, he becomes a railway worker and participates in the strikes of 1920.
The language used for most nthe scenes in the film is Occitan (Limousin dialect).
