Slacker Uprising: Michael Moore's Docu Online for Free

Sep 24, 2008–Michael Moore will release his new film “Slacker Uprising” online for free, but the world premiere will take place in a movie house, on Thursday at the historic Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, which seats 1,700.

Admission is free and first-come, first-served. Doors open at 4 p.m. Following a talk by Moore, the film gets under way at 6:20.

“Slacker Uprising” tells the story of Moore's 62-city tour during the 2004 presidential campaign, which included a stop at the University of Michigan. It's the first major film provided online at no charge.

Moore says he's doing it this way to thank his fans with the approach of next year's 20th anniversary of his first film, “Roger & Me.”
