Sherlock Holmes: Guy Ritchie's Remake Starring Downey Jr. and Jude Law

Sep 19, 2008–Jude Law will appear with Robert Downey Jr. in “Sherlock Holmes,” directed by Guy Ritchie for Warner and Village Roadshow. Law will play Watson, the super-sleuth's sidekick.

The film will incorporate the tales written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as the comic book “Sherlock Holmes.” Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin are producing. Production begins early next month in London.
The studio is still casting some of the principal roles, including the villain, Blackwood.

Jude Law recently completed a role in Terry Gilliam's “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” and co-stars with Forest Whitaker in Miguel Sapochnik's drama “Repossession Mambo” for Universal.
