Sherlock Holmes: Guy Ritchie's Picture Opens Dec 25, 2009

Feb 25, 2009–Warner will release Guy Ritchie's Robert Downey Jr.-Jude Law starrer “Sherlock Holmes” on Christmas, Dec. 25, instead of Nov. 13. The relocation of “Sherlock Holmes” to Christmas Day comes after Sony moved Roland Emmerich's “2010” to Nov. 13.

Also opening on Dec. 25 are two family pictures, Disney's “The Princess and the Frog” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.” There's also an untitled Nancy Meyers comedy set to open that day.

And the final “Harry Potter” picture will be released on July 15, 2011.

The studio also fleshed out its 2010 release calendar, dating a number of projects, including “Green Lantern,” which debuts December 17.

Robin Williams' “Couple of Dicks,” picked up in turnaround by Warners,  is set to open Jan. 29, 2010, followed by remake “Clash of the Titans” on March 26. “Inception” opens July 16, and “Jonah Hex,” Aug. 6. “Suckerpunch” will be released on Oct. 8.

“The Hangover” will open June 5, 2009, one week earlier than its original release date. Studio also has taken “Wild Child” off the calendar. Emma Roberts vehicle was to open May 8.
