Sep 21, 2008–Nicolas Cage will reteam with director Dominic Sena for the supernatural thriller ¬ìSeason of the Witch¬î for Relativity Media. Cage previously worked with Sena on ¬ìGone in Sixty Seconds.¬î Bragi Schut Jr. penned the screenplay, which chronicles the journey of 14th century knights transporting a girl suspected of being the witch responsible for spreading the Black Plague.
The film, which had been in development at Columbia, will be produced by Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early November in Austria and Hungary.
“Season of the Witch” marks the second collaboration between Atlas and Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity. The two companies brought the Jason Statham starrer “The Bank Job” to the bigscreen.
