Sep 4, 2008–Strand Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to Terence Davies' highly acclaimed film, “Of Time and the City,” which world-premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, in May. The one-hour feature is a poetic ode to Liverpool, which is built from archival footage and narrated by Davies himself.
A January 2009 launch is planned, following on the film's October U.K. rollout. Hurricane Films' memoir-documentary was repped by sales agent Hanway Films.
“Of Time and the City” has its North American bow Sunday in Toronto.
Strand had distribbed Davies' “The Neon Bible” and had homevideo rights of his “Trilogy.”
