Halloween: Dominates Box Office

Halloween dominated the domestic box office in its second weekend as the spooky holiday approaches in 3 days.

Universal and Blumhouse’s slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis picked up another $32 million, marking a 58% decline from its impressive debut.

Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween crossed the $100 million mark on Friday. The movie earned $25 million overseas for a total of $172 million worldwide.

A Star Is Born landed in second place with $14 million, dropping just 26% in its fourth outing. Lady Gaga and Bradley’s musical drama has earned $148 million. The critically acclaimed movie hit $100 million at the international box office for a global total of $253.2 million.

Venom, Sony’s dark superhero film with Tom Hardy, came in third with $10.8 million. That brings its domestic tally to $187 million for a worldwide figure of $508.4 million.
