Sep 2, 2008–Clark Gregg's “Choke,” which premiered to great acclaim at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in January, will open London's 16th Raindance Film Festival. Closing night is the world premiere of Mark Tonderai's directorial debut, “Hush.” The festival, which celebrates independent cinema, runs October 1-12.
mong the gGuests expected to attend are Anjelica Huston (“Choke”), Faye Dunaway (“Flick”) and Corey Feldman (“The Birthday”).
Jury includes thesp Peter Capaldi, producer Rebecca O'Brien (“The Wind That Shakes the Barley”), helmer Nicolas Roeg and Beastie Boy-turned-filmmaker Adam Yauch, who will be in town to tubthump for the Raindance European premiere of his basketball picture “Gunnin' for That #1 Spot.”
Over the years, Raindance has developed a reputation for programming music-themed fare, and this year is no different. The lineup of 75 features and more than 100 shorts includes films dedicated to Patti Smith, the Beatles and the Arctic Monkeys.
