Cannes Film Fest 2014: Darker Than Midnight

A U.S. distributor should take risks in releasing “Darker Than Midnight,” the Sicily-set transgender drama by first-timer Sebastiano Riso, which screened in the Critics’ Week sidebar of the 2014 Cannes Film Fest.

Apty titled, the film deals with the traumatic adolescence of drag queen Fuxia, who achieved fame on the Roman stage after a break with family and being adopted by gay and transgender street people in Catania.
