Three years after presenting The Killer in competition at Venice Fest, Fincher could return with The Adventures of Cliff Booth, his anticipated sequel to Tarantino‘s 1969-set Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The spinoff brings back Brad Pitt, reprising his role as Cliff Booth the cool, fearless stuntman, a performance that won him the 2020 Best Supporting Actor Oscar (at his fourth Oscar momination)
Shot on location in L.A, the movie reteams Pitt with Fincher after their cult films, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Fight Club and Seven.
It follows Booth as a middle-aged man, starting a new career as a Hollywood “studio fixer.”
It’s the third movie that Fincher has done for Netflix after the Oscar-winning Mank and The Killer.
Since it’s a Netflix movie, it’s safe to assume it won’t play at Cannes Fest, where Netflix works aren’t allowed in competition.
