Loosely based on Henry James’s 1903 novella, “The Beast in the Jungle,” the script was penned by Bonello, Guillaume Bréaud and Benjamin Charbit.

Directed by Martin Campbell, it was the first in the series not to use any elements from the novels by Ian Fleming.

In a huge win for adult-skewing movies — and romantic comedies — the movie took flight with better-than-expected $16.3 million from 3,542 theaters.
