Sam Wood's “Casanova Brown,”  a comedy co-starring Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright, was nominated for three Oscars: Interior Decoration (b/w), sound, and Scoring of Dramatic or Comedy Picture.

“A Tale of Two Cities” was nominated for two Oscars: Best Picture, produced by David O. Selznick,

and Best Film Editing by Conrad A. Nervig.
