Matt Reeves’ follow-up to The Batman has been pushed back until 2027. The superhero sequel was originally supposed to open on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and open on October 1, 2027, in Imax.

Armando Bó, who won the Oscar for co-writing Iñárritu’s 2014 drama Birdman, will direct the Spanish-language feature.

It is based on a story by the filmmaker while the screenplay is by David Koepp, whose previous work with Spielberg includes the scripts for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park

While the plot is remaining under wraps, “Wife & Dog” will depict the backstabbing world of the British upper classes, a subject Ritchie recently explored in “The Gentleman” film and TV series.
