Cannes Film Fest 2007–I chose this term as a title to evoke the idea of a passage between two worlds. Early on, I wanted the film's title to be the word stamped on passports when leaving Hong Kong: ?¢¬Ä¬úDeparted.?¢¬Ä But I found that Scorsese had just finished a film that was going to use that word in the title–Olivier Assayas
Statham, Jason: Bank Job
This, thankfully, hasn‚Äôt been one that‚Äôs tested me too much in the stunt department. I‚Äôve replaced holding a gun with holding a pint of ale. I‚Äôm not hanging out of helicopters and doing a lot of the silliness I‚Äôve been paid to do in the past. This is more of a sophisticated thriller. I‚Äôm sure it‚Äôs going to be a great crowd pleaser–Jason Statham
Bank Job: Roger Donaldson’s Heist Thriller, Starring Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows (Making of)
I was attracted to the fact that it‚Äôs inspired by real people and real events. I enjoy taking a look at what makes society tick–Roger Donaldson.
Docus: Michael Moore Urges New Theatrical Distribution for Non-Fiction
February 21, 2008–Michael Moore, Oscar nominee for his Cannes-premiered docu “Sicko,” appealed to the members of the documentary community on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, laying out a plan to create a new theatrical distribution outlet for non-fiction cinema.
Roman de Gare: French Director Claude Lelouch
Cannes Film Fest 2007–Notoriety can become a burden. If you are famous, prejudices and appearances are more important than the creation. As a matter of fact, it‚Äôs one of the themes of this film: it deals with appearances and the use of aliases. I personally experienced the story told in the film–Claude Lelouch
