Single Man: Interview with Writer-Director Tom Ford

Fashion designer Tom Ford makes his writing and directorial debut with "A Single Man" starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. The film is released December 11 by The Weinstein Company.

Ford states, "I first read the book 'A Single Man' by Christopher Isherwood in the early 1980s and was moved by the honesty and simplicity of the story."

 

 

 

Blind Side: Interview with Actress Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock stars in "The Blind Side," which is written/directed by John Lee Hancock and stars Tim McGraw and Quinton Aaron. The film, which is based on a true story, is being released November 20 by Warner Bros.

Bullock, who stars in the role of Leigh Anne Tuohy, notes, "The beauty of the story is that you think it's one thing and it turns out to be something else, and those are usually the best things in life. I thought the script was going to be about football until I read it and realized that it's really about family."

John Lee Hancock is the writer/director of "The Blind Side," starring Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, and Quinton Aaron. The film, which is based on a true story, is being released November 20 by Warner Bros.

Director/screenwriter John Lee Hancock states, "It really is two different stories, one of which is more of a question: Who is Michael Oher and why did the stars align to shine so brightly on this kid from the projects in Memphis? And then on the other side, it's a great story about how this unique family evolved, and the unconventional mother-son relationship at its center."

 

 

 

 

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: Interview with Writer/Director Terry Gilliam and Writer Charles McKeown

Terry Gilliam and Charles McKeown are the writers of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," is Heath Ledger's last film shot before his death. Gilliam also directed the film. With actors Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude law stepping in to take over Ledger's unfinished performance, the film is being released December 25 by Sony Pictures Classics.

In November 2006, Terry Gilliam and Charles McKeown started on the script, the third of their written collaborations, following “Brazil” and “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.”

 

 

 

The Twilight Saga – New Moon: Interview with Director Chris Weitz

Chris Weitz is the director of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The film is being released November 20 by Summit Entertainment.

Although Weitz was initially unfamiliar with the novels, he quickly became a fan. “I read the books,” the director says. “Then I went to see the first film with an audience, and I was so jazzed by the extraordinarily deep emotional reaction I saw. When I watch a film, I look for an overwhelming sense of being immersed in a universe, and this was a chance to do that. It’s a bit different from what I’ve done before, but it also draws on some of my experience.”
