Emily Blunt, “The Girl on the Train”

Despite mixed to negative critical reaction overall, Emily Blunt, the talented British actress earned admiration for her work as a struggling alcoholic in the adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestseller.

The movie, its director, and actress Blunt have been shut out of all previous awards.  Nor have their names appeared on any prediction lists made by the industry’s Oscar gurus.

Blunt’s inclusion on this list is particularly surprising, considering how tough the actress race is this year.
