Oscar Actors: Chalamet, Timothee–As Young Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown”

At the New York premiere of his Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, Oscar frontrunner Timothee Chalamet looked completely unrecognizable with a bleach-blonde dye job, swapping his signature brunette curls for flaxen-colored ‘do complete with swooped bangs that peeked out from underneath his blue beanie.

If he earns an Oscar nomination (which he should), it would be his second Best Actor nod, after the 2017 Call Me By Your Name.

Chalamet paired his new look with a thin mustache and goatee, and wore a blue-and-red flannel shirt beneath an oversized black leather coat with gray checkered scarf loosely tied around his neck. A pair of black jeans, matching leather gloves, and chunky boots provided the finishing touches to his outfit.

From his dyed blonde locks to his rugged winter clothes, Chalamet was channeling Bob Dylan at the Sundance Film Fest, where the music legend was promoting his film Masked and Anonymous while sporting identical hairstyle and outfit.

Chalamet plays a young Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, which follows the singer as he moves from Minnesota to New York and the controversy around his use of electric instruments.

Chalamet said about his commitment to the role of Dylan. “It was something I would go to sleep panicked about: losing a moment of discovery as the character–no matter how pretentious that sounds–because I was on my phone or because of any distraction,” he said.

“I had three months of my life to play Bob Dylan, after five years of preparing to play him. So while I was in it, that was my eternal focus. He deserved that and then more.… God forbid I missed a step because I was being Timmy. I could be Timmy for the rest of my life!:
