Men, Women and Children: Jason Reitman’s Oscar Contender?

Paramount has set Jason Reitman’s “Men, Women and Children” for an awards-season run and will open the drama-comedy October 1.

The studio will expand the film on October 10, followed by a wide release on October 17.

“Men, Women and Children” will premiere at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival next month.

The film stars Adam Sandler, Rosemarie DeWitt, Emma Thompson, Jennifer Garner, Kaitlyn Dever, Ansel Elgort, Dean Norris, J.K. Simmons and Dennis Haysbert.

Reitman’s directing credits include “Up in the Air,” “Labor Day,” “Young Adult” and “Juno.” He co-wrote the script with Erin Cressida Wilson, based on the novel of same name by Chad Kultgen.

Paramount released the first trailer this week, which contains no dialogue, only text messages, to convey the film’s focus on how the internet has changed the way that parents and teenagers interact.
