Bong Joon Ho has landed an impressive cast of voices to his first animated movie, Ally.

Ayo Edebiri, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Finn Wolfhard, Alex Jayne Go, Rachel House and Werner Herzog also have been cast.

The film, which was acquired by Neon for America, reunites with the director after Parasite.

CJ ENM, Penture Invest and Pathé have teamed to co-finance and distribute.

Directed by Bong, who co-wrote the script with Jason Yu, the feature was in development since 2019.
The story follows Ally, a curious and endearing piglet squid living in the depths of the South Pacific Ocean. She dreams of one day seeing the sun and becoming the star of a wildlife documentary. But when a mysterious aircraft sinks into the ocean, her peaceful world is suddenly thrown into danger. Alongside her loyal companions, Ally is thrust into an extraordinary journey that will take her all the way to the surface.

Neon will release the film in North American theaters. Pathé will handle distribution in France, Benelux, Switzerland and West Africa while CJ and Penture will distribute in South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey and Indonesia. Pathé represents international sales excluding Japan and China, for which CJ and Penture will handle sales.
