Woody Allen Filmography

Woody Allen, the most consistent and prolific living director in American cinema, has helmed 51 feature over the past 54 years.

This excludes the one segment he did in the 1989 anthology, New York Stories, alongside Scorsese and Coppola.

Many of his features are cinema a clef, autobiographical or semi-autobiographical exercises about his own neuroses and Jewish identity, which may explain why psychoanalysis (and psychiatrists) is prominent in his oeuvre.

The protagonists of his films, like Allen, are often creative figures, writers, directors, and other kinds of artists.
