Jared Leto’s  Morbius, the Sony and Marvel film has moved its release date to October 8. It previously had been set for March 18.
The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa, written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius alongside Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.
In the film, Morbius becomes a vampire after attempting to cure himself of rare blood disease.
The move comes as theatergoing remains uncertain amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The film was previously slated for last July before the pandemic delayed it.
The superhero film is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel, and distributed by Sony, it is intended to be the third film in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.
