Oscar Directors: Bunuel, Luis–Background, Career, Awards

The great director Luis Bunuel had eight of his films premiere at he Cannes Film Fest, ranging from Los Olvidados in 1950 to Tristana in 1970.

Three of his films had been nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar: Tristana in 1970, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie in 1972, and That Obscure Object of Desire in 1977.
