Truman: Cesc Gay’s Award Winning Film, Starring Ricardo Darín

Film Rise will release Cesc Gay’ sharply observed film, Truman, in New York and Miami on Friday, April 7.

Truman premiered at the 2015 Toronto Film Fest and also screened at the 2015 San Sebastián and London festivals.

Diagnosed with terminal cancer, Julián (Ricardo Darín) has decided to forgo treatment, and spend his final days tying up loose ends.

When childhood friend Tomás (Javier Cámara) pays his ailing friend an unexpected visit, he quickly realizes he won’t be able to change his mind.

In what will be their final reunion, the two friends set out to finalize Julián’s funeral arrangements, settle his accounts and, most importantly, find a home for his beloved dog, Truman, in this heartfelt and surprisingly humorous film.

Truman won five Goya Awards (Spain’s Oscars), including Best Film, Best Director, Best Lead Actor (Ricardo Darn) and Best Supporting Actor (Javier Cámara).
