To the Bone: Marti Noxon Feature Debut about Anorexia

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Marti Noxon’s directorial debut, To the Bone.

The deal in the $8 million range, making it one of the bigger ones at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

The drama stars Lily Collins as Ellen, a young woman who makes a last attempt to conquer her severe anorexia by entering a group recovery home.

With the help of an unconventional doctor and the other residents, she begins to learn whether life is worth living.

In addition to making her directorial debut, Noxon (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, UnReal) wrote the script, basing it on her own struggles with the eating disorder.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie Preston are also featured in the cast.

Julie Lynn, Bonnie Curtis, Karina Miller, Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi produced To the Bone.

Talal Al Abbar, Matthew J. Malek and Anita Gou aare executive producers. Allison Avery Jordan and Shea Kammer are co-producers.

Netflix has been busy at Sundance this year, already acquiring documentaries Casting JonBenet, Chasing Coral and Hulk Hogan-Gawker battle Nobody Speak, among others.
