Private Lives of Pippa Lee: Rebecca Miller’s Film, Starring Robin Wright Penn and Alan Arkin

Robert Baruc, President of Screen Media Films, has acquired the U.S distribution rights to “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” starring Robin Wright Penn, Alan Arkin, Maria Bello, Monica Bellucci, Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. Screen Media Films plans to release the film theatrically in late October.  The film is adapted from writer-director Rebecca Miller’s novel of the same name.  “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” had its world premiere at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival.

Dede Gardner and Lemore Syvan serve as the producers and it was executive produced by Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Jean-Luc De Fanti and Jeff Sagansky.

Writer/director Rebecca Miller stated: “I’m extremely appreciative of Screen Media’s enthusiasm for “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.”

Baruc said, “Rebecca’s adaptation of her novel features brilliant performances from a top notch cast and is incredibly well-done. The material is both touching and funny and we are thrilled to bring it into the marketplace.”

The deal was negotiated by CAA, which also packaged and arranged financing for the film.  Baruc and David Fannon, Executive-Vice President of Screen Media Ventures, negotiated on behalf of Screen Media.
