In 1996, Michael Cimino directed Sunchaser, which would become his last feature-length film.
The tale stars Woody Harrelson and Jon Seda.
Surprisingly, it played at the Cannes Film Fest in competition.
Panned by most critics, the movie was a box-office bomb, grossing less than $30,000.
Sadly, the directing career of Cimino, which began brilliantly with his 1974 debut, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, starring Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges, and climaxed with The Deer Hunter, which swept the 1978 Oscars, including Best Picture, ended on a bad note.
He died in 2016 at the age of 76.
