William Wyler directed The Shakedown, a serio-comedy sport tale that’s part talkie, starring James Murray.

Murray plays Dave Roberts, a professional boxer who specializes at losing in fixed matches. He is a member of a group that sets up corrupt boxing matches. Dave goes through a moral crisis after meeting and taking care of a mother and her son.  He faces a decision of whether to continue his low-life ways, or fight against those forcing him to participate in them.
