In her big screen debut, Sonja Henie makes her father (Jean Hersholt) proud by winning a gold medal at the Winter Olympics.
Henie, as is well known, was a three-time gold medalist, who was brought to Hollywood to make a series of popular ice-skating pictures, which were perfectly escapist fare during the Depression era.
Directed by Sidney Lanfield, the movie has a nice secondary cast, including Adolphe Menjou, Don Ameche, the Ritz Brothers, and Borrah Minevich and his famous Harmonica Rascals.
